Pilgrims Hope Family Shelter

In addition to safe temporary shelter,  families residing at the program site receive support services to help them help themselves.  Families are offered help with:

  • time management
  • vocational/educational training
  • housing search services
  • nutrition training
  • budgeting and finance
  • training in independent living
  • case management
  • parenting education groups

The goal is for families to move from the shelter into safe housing they can afford.  We help families to live productive, self sufficient lives by offering opportunities to gain skills and enhance family living.

Food Pantry

Food boxes are distributed to the needy in the community.  They contain non-perishable food items, as well as fresh foods, most of which are donated by  individuals and church and civic groups in our community.  The pantry also provides food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The pantry is open Wednesdays 5pm to 7pm and Thursdays 9:30am to 12:30pm.  Donations of food are accepted 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our Family And Individual Resource program provides clothing, household goods, and furniture at a minimal cost. The program is open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays. Most items are $1. Every fourth Friday we hold our monthly Bag Sale,  $5/bag day at our FAIR program . Clothing and shoes are $5.00/13 gallon bag. Donations from the community are the sole source of support. Items in good and useful condition are welcomed.
